In winter Marcel works as a snowboard instructor for all levels of boarders and freestylers. He loves to shred the backcountry in his spare time. In summer he is a bike guide out of conviction. At the age of 13 he started on a BMX. He was able to win several prizes at BMX competitions. At the end of the 80’s he switched to the mountain bike. So he followed the progress of biking since the early days. Just as with the BMX he was also quite good in cross country racing.A little tired of racing, at the age of 25, he started a trip of six months from the North of the Nederland’s to the South of Portugal. On many stage through the Alps and Pyrenees he fell in love with the mountains. There was no way back. The flat Nederland’s weren’t interesting any more. He travelled around the world and finally found a home in Mayrhofen in the Ziller Valley, where he has lived now for ten years. In summer he spends every free minute on his bike and knows the best routes and trails of the valley.

He grew up in the Ziller Valley. In his childhood he did a lot of different kinds of sports. After the basic school he started training for competitive sports. As a professional middle distance runner he was able to celebrate some victories on the national level of Austria. After six to seven year’s hard work he decided to reduce the running, otherwise he would have lost the joy for it. There was than the question of a second sport to do. The time he fist sat on a full suspension mountain bike, there was no way back. With the good shape and the drive for fun and action, he found his passion in MTB Freeride. He doesn’t mind the strains and carries his bike regularly on summits above of 2000 m sea level to shred the most difficult and most beautiful trails. Se he started than to do what he can do best. This is to fill others with enthusiasm and joy for the things, Alex himself loves to do with passion which is unbelievable. It’s not just for the mountain biking in summer, it’s the same for skiing and free skiing the winter. For our team, he is the local hero, because he knows every meter of the tours and trails and for Freeriders he offers a huge selection of secret spots.
